Who is Vipula Gunatilleka?

Vipula Gunatilleka is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Jet Airways. He joined the Indian aviation company on March 1, 2022.

He is considered a turnaround specialist and expert in the civil aviation industry.
Life and education
 
Born in the Sri Lankan city of Kandy, Gunatilleka received a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the University of Colombo in 1986 and a year later, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant (CA). He is also a Certified Public Accountant (FCPA) from Australia and a Chartered Management Accountant (FCMA) from the UK.
 
Career
 
Before joining SriLankan Airlines, Vipula Gunatilleka worked with General Electric (GE) and was the CFO and Board Member of TAAG Angola Airlines from November 2015 to July 2018 under Emirates Management. He served as the CEO of the SriLankan Airlines until January 2022.
