The Janakpuri Assembly constituency in NCT of Delhi is currently held by Rajesh Rishi of the AAP. In the 2020 Assembly election held in Delhi Rajesh Rishi defeated his nearest rival Ashish Sood of the BJP by 14917 votes, polling 54.43 of the votes cast in the constituency.
In the 2020 Delhi Assembly election, Janakpuri saw a voter turnout of 65.58 per cent — that is, 124881 of the 190425 registered voters here exercised their right to franchise. Rajesh Rishi received 67968 votes, compared with 53051 votes polled by Ashish Sood. On the third position was Radhika Khera of the Congress, who secured only 2084 votes to have a vote share of just 1.67 per cent.
In the previous Delhi Assembly election, held in 2015, Rajesh Rishi of the AAP had won the Janakpuri seat by defeating Jagdish Mukhi of the BJP by 25580 votes.
