Hanuma Vihari is an Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Andhra. A middle-order batsman, he bats right-handed and bowls off-spin occasionally. He was part of India’s 2012 U-19 World Cup team that lifted the coveted Trophy under the captaincy of Unmukt Chand. In October 2017, he scored his first triple-century (302 not out) for Andhra against Odisha in a Ranji Trophy match. He was the leading run-scorer for Andhra in the 2017-18 Ranji season, with 752 runs in six matches, helping him earn a Test cap when India toured England in 2018.


IPL career


Sunrisers Hyderabad roped in Hanuma Vihari for the 2013 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) and he delivered well by scoring crucial runs. In 17 matches, he scored 241 runs at an average of 17.21, his highest score being 46. Also, he took the prized wicket of Chris Gayle while bowling the first over of the innings. In the IPL auction 2019, Delhi Capitals bagged him for Rs 2 crore. Vihari has so far played 22 IPL matches and scored 280 runs at an average of 11.55 and a strike rate of 89.45.


Test Career


Hanuma Vihari made his Test debut against England at Kennington Oval in London on September 7, 2018. In 4 matches played so far, he has scored 167 runs at an average of 23.86, with a fifty on debut. In the bowling department, he has 5 wickets to his name at an average of 26.4.
