Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant expressed shock at Friday's plane crash in Kerala.
An Air India Express flight from Dubai, with 190 people on board, overshot the runway in Kozhikode in the southern state in the evening and fell into a valley.
The death toll was 16, as per officials.

The Allahabad High Court on Friday granted anticipatory bail to Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's aide Sandeep Singh over a list of 1,000 buses the party had offered for ferrying migrant workers stranded outside the state due to the coronavirus lockdown.
The Lucknow bench of the high court said the offer had come from Priyanka Gandhi and Singh had only communicated it to the state government.
The Congress leader's private secretary was booked in May after the UP authorities said the list contained many vehicles without valid papers like insurance and fitness certificates.

The CBI has booked former director general of Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) P C Chaturvedi and seven others for alleged violation of CVC guidelines in sanctioning 14 projects worth over Rs 6,255 crore during 2007-09, officials said on Friday.
Besides Chaturvedi, those named as suspects include the then finance commissioner Rajiv Dixit, Chief Engineer PR Roy, Director (Finance) AK Sinha, Executive Engineer Rajiv Kumar, Joint Director V Subramanian, consultant J Sarup and consultant Hindustan Latex Ltd, D Kumar.
The agency has alleged that Chaturvedi in conspiracy with others sanctioned these projects during 2007-09 in violation of CVC guidelines.
Malaysia's former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has admitted that his country's ties with India strained due to his remarks on Kashmir, but said other than that the relationship between the two countries was very good, under his leadership.

The Delhi High Court on Friday passed a slew of directions relating to online Open Book Examination (OBE), which will be conducted by the Delhi University for final year undergraduate courses from August 10, to ensure fair opportunity for students keeping in view the technical problems.

Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Friday accused several states of taking subsidised PDS foodgrains and passing on to end users as their own, without giving any credit to the Centre.
He said this trend is apparent in 11 states, mostly in non-BJP ruled, that are trying to undermine the efforts of the central government in ensuring that no poor goes hungry.
Under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), the central government is providing foodgrains to states for distribution through Public Distribution System (PDS), also known as ration shops, at a subsidised rate of Rs 2/kg rice and Rs 3/kg wheat, costing over Rs 1 lakh crore annually to the exchequer.
The Centre Friday moved the Supreme Court seeking to make itself a party to actress Rhea Chakraborty's plea for transferring to Mumbai an FIR, lodged against her in Patna, in connection with actor Sushant Singh Rajput's death.
The Centre has said that transfer of Patna FIR to the CBI in the case makes it "a necessary and proper party" to Rhea's plea pending in the apex court.
The plea has been filed through DoPT's under secretary Satya Prakash Ram Tripathi.

At least 14 people were killed and over 50 others feared trapped in debris after a landslide triggered by heavy rains flattened a row of dwelling units of tea estate workers at Pettimudi in this high-range district in Kerala early Friday, police and officials said.
The incident is said tohave occurred in the weehours when a huge mound of earth fell on the "row houses" and two children and five women were among the deceased, most of whom were plantation workers from neighbouring Tamil Nadu.

The Supreme Court Friday dismissed a PIL seeking a CBI or NIA probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, saying "strangers" are "unnecessarily" coming when his father is pursuing already pursuing the case.
Rajput, 34, was found hanging from the ceiling of his apartment in suburban Bandra in Mumbai on June 14.
Mumbai police has been probing the case and recorded statements of 56 people including Bollywood directors like Aditya Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

The International Cricket Council's video channel got the most number of views on Facebook in the first half of this year, more than double the engagement of other global sporting federations, the body stated on Friday citing the findings of a content analysis tool.
The ICC said that the number of views on its video channel stood at 1.65 billion in the first half of 2020, which is more than any other leading sporting organisations on the platform.
The results, it said, were derived from the Facebook-owned CrowdTangle's analysis.
Actor Rhea Chakraborty, accused of abetting suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) here on Friday in connection with the money laundering case lodged by it.
