Multi-sectoral Development Programme is an area development initiative to fill the gaps of the existing schemes by providing additional resources and to take non-gap filling projects for the welfare of minorities. The projects under the scheme are sanctioned in only those areas which are identified by the Ministry on the basis of population (minimum 25% of minority communities) and backwardness parameters. The details regarding the criteria adopted by Ministry for identification of the area unit of implementation and the area so far covered is available on the official website of the Ministry.

The different schemes under PM's New 15-PP are monitored at different levels of the Government to ensure their effective implementation. As the nodal Ministry, Ministry of Minority Affairs reviews the schemes/programme on quarterly basis with the nodal officers of the concerned Ministries/Departments. The details of schemes included under PM's New 15-PP and achievements thereto, are available on the website of the Ministry at www.minorityaffairs.gov.in
