: Five people were today arrested on the charge of transporting 286kg of ganja estimated to be worth Rs 30 lakh, police said.
On a tip-off, a police team nabbed the five, including prime accused G Nagaraju, at Bibinagar mandal near here and seized the ganja being transported in a three-wheeler, they said.
The gang used to collect ganja at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh and sell it here and also in Maharashtra, Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh MBhagwat said.
A case was registered under relevant sections of Narcotic Drugs and Pyschotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
