A teenager was allegedly gangraped in Odisha's Ganjam district on Friday and four persons were arrested for it today, police said.
The girl was allegedly gangraped inside a cashew forest near Tamanada, about 90 km from here, Bhanjanagara sub-divisional police officer Utkal Keshari Das said.
The girl was rescued by villagers, who informed the police and an FIR was filed afterwards.
The arrested, who were aged between 22 and 32 years, have been identified, Das said.
Medical examinations of the accused and the victim were conducted at MKCG Medical College and Hospital here.
Inspector in-charge of Jagannath Prasad police station, Anirudha Mallick said the statement of the rape survivor was also recorded before the designated court here as per the provisions of the POCSO Act.
