India vs England 5th T20: PITCH REPORT

The pitch for the 5th T20 is going to be the same as the second one.

Here's what Ajit Agarkar and Deepdas Gupta said at the pitch report:

"Looks really good and this might start a little slow and the toss could play an important role. The square boundaries are really big here. Fifty percent of the runs scored against the fast bowlers on this ground seems to be behind the stumps and this might actually help bowlers who can vary their pace with shorter lengths proving to be a relatively better option."

England was fined for slow over-rate in 4th T20I

England players have been fined 20 per cent of their match fees for maintaining a slow over-rate against India in the fourth T20 International at Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad.

ICC elite panel match referee Javagal Srinath imposed the sanction after Eoin Morgan's side was ruled to be one over short of the target after time allowances were taken into consideration at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

In accordance with Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to minimum over-rate offences, players were fined 20 per cent of their match fees for every over their side fails to bowl in the allotted time, the ICC said in a release on Friday.

India won the match by eight runs on Thursday night to level the five-match series at 2-2, paving the way for a winners-take-it-all final game at the same venue on Saturday

Morgan pleaded guilty to the offence and accepted the proposed sanction, so there was no need for a formal hearing.

On-field umpires KN Ananthapadmanabhan, Nitin Menon, and third umpire Virendar Sharma levelled the charges.

We will be feared by a lot of teams in T20 World Cup: Collingwood

England will be "feared" by a lot of teams in the upcoming T20 World Cup, assistant coach Paul Collingwood asserted on Friday.

Collingwood, who had captained England to a T20 World Cup triumph in 2010, said they are now better prepared for the tournament, scheduled to be held in India in seven months' time.

"Going into this World Cup I think we will be feared by a lot of teams because of our white-ball form for the past four years," Collingwood told British media on the eve of their T20I series-decider against India.

"We've got a lot of match winners from one to 11, who can win games from their own bat. Totally different teams from 2010 to now, but I don't think we could be in a better place.

"The team in 2010 was a team that came together right at the last moment, and we took a few risks, gambles on selection.

"We knew what kind of cricket we wanted to play but it hadn't been drilled into us over a long period of time, like this team has. I think this team is better prepared."

IND vs ENG 5th T20 playing 11 prediction LIVE: Kishan or Dhawan?

While Kishan impressed in his debut game on March 14, hammering a half-century to help India come back into the series after being 1-0 down, Dhawan was dropped after the first T20I and has remained on the bench.

Dhawan had made a 12-ball four in the first T20I.

The left-handed experienced batsman, however, batted for long at the nets on Friday, the eve of the fifth and final match.

While Kishan looks a certainty but if the Jharkhand and Mumbai Indians' player doesn't recover and isn't completely fit, there could be an opportunity for Dhawan who has blown hot and cold.

The 35-year-old's returns in T20 Internationals have been 1, 52, 28 and 4 post lockdown with the sole half-century coming in Australia during the tour a few months ago.

Will Virat Kohli back Rahul for the final T20I?

While both Vikram Rathour and India skipper have shown confidence in him and say that he is one of the best T20 batsmen in the world, time is running out for him. Saturday's deciding T20 International could see him out of the team and be replaced by either Ishan Kishan or Shikhar Dhawan.

IND vs ENG LIVE: Rahul's form in question ahead of decider?

Ahead of India vs England in the fifth and final T20 International today, a lot of focus is on opener KL Rahul. The Karnataka batsman has aggregated just 15 in the four games of this series. He had a string of poor scores -- 1,0,0 before he made 14 in the fourth match.

England squad: Eoin Morgan (captain), Moeen Ali, Jofra Archer, Jonathan Bairstow, Sam Billings, Jos Buttler (wicketkeeper), Sam Curran, Tom Curran, Chris Jordan, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, Adil Rashid, Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Reece Topley, Mark Wood.

India vs England 5th T20 preview

India will look to build on the confidence they gained in defending a target in the fourth T20I and win the fifth and final match at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday to clinch the series.

The hosts have levelled the series from a match down twice. They lost the first and the third matches, but won the second and fourth matches. The latest victory on Thursday came while defending a target of 186 runs.

The first three matches went in favour of teams chasing and it seemed like England would win Thursday's game when they put India in and got the early wicket of Rohit Sharma. However, Suryakumar Yadav, playing his first innings in international cricket, hit a quick half-century to put India on track.

In each of India's wins, one of the two Mumbai Indians' stars -- Ishan Kishan or Suryakumar, has clicked with the big-hitting and caught England by surprise.

The pitch given for the fourth T20I was a black soil surface, which had lesser pace than the one used for the third T20I. The pitch for the final match is also likely to be a black soil wicket and could see plenty of runs.

Captain Virat Kohli had praised the surface dished out for the fourth match. "The pitch was better than any other game," said Kohli after the game.

India's fast bowlers' change in pace has played a crucial role in both their wins. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Hardik Pandya and Shardul Thakur made use of it to trouble the hard-hitting English batsmen.

In the second T20I, the change in pace helped India keep England to a below-par total batting first. In the fourth T20I, when England, powered by Ben Stokes's big-hitting, looked set to chase a massive target, change in pace again brought India back into the game.

For England, the key has been keeping the Indian top-order at bay in both matches they have won. However, their bowlers have faltered whenever someone from the top order like Kishan or a Suryakumar has clicked.

A big focus will be on opener KL Rahul, who has failed to get big scores in the series. After scores of 1,0,0 in the first three games, the right hander managed a 17-ball 14 in the fourth match.
