India crushed Australia by six wickets in the third T20 international match at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) and level the 3-match series 1-1.

Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan gave India a flying start but the team lost momentum after they both returned to the pavilion, after that, Virat Kohli held the inning from one end but could not find a good company as Lokesh Rahul fell first and Rishabh Pant followed him to the pavilion on the next ball.

Dinesh Karthik played a key knock by sticking to one end and providing support to Kohli, who went on to make a brilliant half-century.

Shikhar Dhawan scored 41 runs off just 22 balls, including two big sixes before Mitchell Starc dismissed him, Rohit Sharma made 23 runs off 16 balls before Adam Zampa stunned him on a turner that cost him his wicket.

Lokesh Rahul looked good but could not help the team much as he threw away his wicket under pressure as the flow of runs suffered under the spin attack of Zampa and Maxwell.

Rishabh Pant gifted his wicket to Andrew Tye on his very first delivery and India fell in trouble with back-to-back wicket fall.

Dinesh Karthik (22 off 18)  did not disappoint on the occasion and kept a good company to skipper Virat Kohli who remained unbeaten on 61 runs in 41 balls, including 2 sixes.

Krunal Pandya was chosen as Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling figures today (4-0-36-4) while Shikhar Dhawan was named Man of the Series for scores of 76 and 41.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first. The hosts started well with the openers D Arcy Short and Australia skipper Aaron Finch slamming 50-run stand for the first wicket before the duo departed in quick succession.

For India, Krunal Pandya wreaked havoc with the ball, scalping 4 wickets for 36 runs in his 4 overs.

Short and McDermott were dismissed on successive deliveries by Krunal and he did not stop there as Maxwell and Carey ended up becoming other victims too.

Kuldeep Yadav was the other successful bowler for India,  removing the dangerous Aaron Finch on 28 runs.

Chris Lynn was sent back by Bumrah as he made no mistake in targetting the sticks as the batsman was attempting to steal a single.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed and Jasprit Bumrah had to settle without any wickets today.

Australia did not find the sailing easy as Indian bowlers kept the noose tight on run flow but the team did manage to post a decent score ahead of India who chased it in the last over.
