Stock Market LIVE Updates: Among sectors, the Nifty Auto index was up 0.6 per cent, followed by the Nifty Pharma index, which was up 0.47 per cent.
Stock Market close highlights, Wednesday, June 4, 2025: Snapping the three-day losing streak, Indian benchmark equity indices settled in green on Wednesday following rally in global equities driven by expected relief on the US-China trade talks, the RBI's Monetary Policy Committee's expected rate cuts on Friday, and better-than-expected US labour markets data.

After hitting intraday high of 81,087.29, the Sensex settled at 80,998.25, up by 260.74 points or 0.32 per cent. The Nifty50 closed at 24,620 levels, up by 77.7 points or 0.32 per cent.
In the broader markets, Nifty Midcap100, and Nifty Smallcap100 indices settled with gains of 0.71 per cent and 0.79 per cent, respectively.
On the sectoral front, barring Nifty Realty, all the sectoral indices on the NSE settled in green, with gains led by Nifty Oil & Gas, Metal and Energy indices, which ended higher by 0.67 per cent, 0.6 per cent and 0.52 per cent respectively.
Among the Sensex constituents, 19 out of 30 stocks ended higher, with gains led by Eternal, IndusInd Bank, Bharti Airtel, Tech Mahindra, Reliance Industries, Tata Motors and Tata Steel up to 3.2 per cent. On the other hand, Bajaj Finserv, Axis Bank, TCS, Titan, L&T, and HCL Tech were among the 11 Sensex laggards that ended lower by up to 1.7 per cent on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the fear index (India VIX), which gauges the volatility in the markets, settled down by 4.9 per cent at 15.74 points.
